Palmerston North

Palmerston North is the thriving capital of the province of Manawatu. It is one of New Zealand’s largest landlocked cities and services the farming community which surrounds it. The Victoria Esplanade is a beautiful place for a wander offering spectacular plant displays, rose gardens, nature trail, fernery amongst a myriad of walkways. Nearby Ashhurst, just 13kms away is home to the Te Apiti Wind farm. Get up close and personel with these amazing machines and find out what makes them tick. Stop off for a coffee at Cafe Domain in the Ashhurst domain where you can sip a coffee or dine in a lovely historic cottage overlooking the wetlands towards the turbines. Relax in the gardens of the Herb Farm & Cafe before returning to the City Lights.
